He Is Risen Indeed!

As a younger child, I remember a Sunday School teaching on various aspects of the passion week of Christ and Jesus Christ's fulfillment of various prophecies. The illustration was an egg carton of a dozen plastic eggs with small illustrations placed inside such as a thorn to remember Christ has a crown of thorns put on his head. The last plastic egg, though, had nothing in it. This symbolizes that the tomb in which Christ was laid was empty because Christ rose from the dead, being the sinless Son of God, confirming that death had no claim on Jesus Christ.
Christ is now risen, the first example of resurrection from the dead, because Jesus' death on the cross paid for the debt of sin, and sin had no claim on Jesus. All who trust in Christ's payment for sin will be resurrected, too, and not face the debt of their own sins because Christ took the consequence of death in their place. Christ's victory over death is foundational to our hope in Christ. In Christ, we are made alive to eternal life. For God so loved the world that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
The Last Enemy Destroyed
1 Corinthians 15:20-28 (NKJV)
But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. For “He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
